Keep that for when you have a carrack, so you can get more gold (level 1 carrack holds 50k resources, and level 2 carrack holds 350k resources).My starting town gave 1:12 for wood (don't know if that's random or the same for everyone), and I wasted that by just sending over a few thousand wood.
I always prioritize the one's that increase the amounts done/received per click, so harvesting, building, and refining% increases. I wasn't sure if this was the best course of action starting out(and still am not), but after starting New Game Plus, I was glad I did as resource cost for buildings, as well as cap provided per building, increased significantly. The level 1 Sailing Guild as an example, is around 14 mil resources to construct compared to the 5.5k it costs when you start.If those aren't available, then I look for worker bonuses, preferably builders for inn's or sailing as so far at least, clicking boats isn't near as fast as assigning a worker. Then blue gems and as a last resort the red gem.I don't typically get the sailing speed bonus as I've only seen 5% and I can get 20% per Kinetic Rune Factory so I wasn't sure the trade off there was worth it.
